Are valuations or appraisals really complimentary?

Yes. In fact, you can receive a current valuation 3 different ways.

  1. Online through our website.
  2. Text message. Send photos of the front and the back of your coin(s) to (209) 330-9578. Not more than 20 coins per photo. Learn about privacy terms and conditions here. We recommend sending us photos of your items. This can potentially save you a trip.
  3. In-person meeting. We accept walk-ins and appointments

Why are valuations or appraisals complimentary?

It is part of our mission statement which can be found here.

Are your valuations different because you don’t charge?

No. Marc One’s valuation, in our opinion, is the value of your coins when we look at them because it is also what we would pay for your coins.

We also encourage you to ask any other PNG dealer (a list can be found at PNGdealers.org) to independently value and/or make an offer for your items.

Any disclaimer or catch regarding valuations?

Yes, legal work. There are people for this, again PNGdealers.org. If, for any reason you need Marc One, our fees are a bitcoin, daily, in advance.

What can I have appraised?

All US coins, all bullion and all US paper money.

Appraisals are always free and are of no-obligation.

However, if you are seeking an appraisal for insurance or estate purposes, please contact us directly or schedule an appointment on-line. This work can be more detailed and we schedule for it.

I'm submitting a Marc One online appraisal request - what should I include in it?

If you are unsure as to what you have, please send a photo of your items. Please, not more than 20 coins per photo. Please include any notes  in your message if they might be helpful. If you have a list please send it as well.

I have a large box coins. What can I expect during my visit?

We are thorough. We examine your coins. Non-bullion items are sorted by denomination, type, quality and rarity. Bullion items are sorted and counted. We make a list and each category is then priced with an explanation of current cash value.

How long will it take to get a response to emails or texts?

Sometimes we get busy! We always strive to reply within 2 business days.

Regarding the proof 1975 San Francisco no Mint Mark dime.

This coin is very rare. There are presently only two known. The dime can only found in a 1975 San Francisco proof set. These sets were sold by the US Mint in 1975 and shipped via the US Post Office in special boxes and holders which are known as proof sets.

You will not find the $500k rare 1975 no San Francisco Mint Mark in your pocket change. Proof set only.

But how can that be? I have a 1975 no Mint Mark dime in my possession. Yes, you do. However, you have one of the 585,673,900 dated 1975 made without a Mint mark on purpose in Philadelphia for circulation by the US Mint. These Philadelphia circulation strikes are not part of the 2 known rare proof strikes from San Francisco which were struck in proof and are missing the S Mint Mark. Again, all 1975 10c made in Philadelphia do not have a Mint mark and they are worth their face value of 10c each today.
